November Meeting Yooper Coinshooters

The November meeting of the yoopercoinshooters metal detecting club was called to order at 12:40 pm est. on November 18th, 2017.

After the pledge of allegiance Donna Gillespie gave the clubs secretary report and a motion was made by Ray Roberts and seconded by Ray Philips to accept Donna’s report as read with no objections.

Rand Gillespie gave the clubs teasurers report followed by a motion to accept by Bonnie Philips and seconded by Mike Hurkmans with no objections.

I asked Rand if all members we’re caught up with there club dues and he said there was one or two outstanding and he would give them a second notice within the next day or so.

I then told the members that I’d made a few changes and one or two deletions to the club guidelines and passed out amended copies to the members and told them to go over them and let me know by the end of the meeting if they had any questions or comments of the changes.

We also talked briefly about our June 2018 meeting and meal followed with a club coin hunt at Pioneer Trail park.

We still haven’t nailed down the date in June for the event and we still have some things to discuss about the particulars yet. I did ask Bonnie Philips and she agreed to emcee the “Simon Says” contest again in 2018 at the 2018, thank you Bonnie.

We also talked about the December 16th “white elephant” Christmas party next month with the gift exchange, attendance drawing, the drawing for a Christmas ham, and the holiday meal. The club will furnish the meats and the rest of the food will be potluck from the members. We passed out a list for members to sign up for the dishes they’d planned to bring and if their spouses would be attending.

Next on the agenda was the drawing for the Thanksgiving turkey certificate and the lucky winner was our secretary Donna Gillespie. Congratulations to Donna.

Next agenda item was the usual two jokes. The first one was okay but the second one went over big time. In fact I had a hard time as I couldn’t stop laughing for awhile to deliver the punch line.

Next was the five coin drawings which were won by the following: Silver Jefferson quarter, Pete Harvala – silver Mercury dime, Bonnie Philips – silver Mercury dime, Rand Gillespie – Silver Roosevelt dime, Tom Robison and silver Roosevelt dime, Dan Trenary. Congrats to the winners.

Next agenda item was the 50/50 drawing which was won by Mike Hurkmans. Way to go Mike!

I want to thank all the members that brought food, soda and good desserts.

Following the drawings, Ray Roberts made a motion to adjourn the meeting and was seconded by Tom Robison with no objections the meeting was adjourned at 1:27 pm est. Time to eat!

That’s it for this one. Happy coin/relic hunting and don’t forget to cover your holes……………PLEASE
